I've been really busy drawing and kind of neglecting the website. I have a ton of work to do on the site to make it what I'd like but I'm concentrating on more content at the moment.
Just wanted to let you all know I've uploaded some art to Deviant Art where I have made a number of prints available. The image to the right is my most recent. Her name is Yuki and she is a witch. I'm still working on the back story for the character. Perhaps I'll make a comic for her some day.
For now I hope you all enjoy and be sure to check out my Deviant Art page to see more work.
Infinite Malice

When I was growing up as a kid I loved comic books, both major titles (X-Men, Spider-Man, Lobo, etc.) and lesser known (indy) ones. They inspired me to keep going with my art for many years. In the 80's and 90's Marvel had the greatest comic artists and writers of all time including the legendary Todd McFarlane. Todd and some other brilliant artists eventually formed Image comics and created some of the most awe inspiring books I've ever seen.
In those days, as a teenager, I had imagined myself being a comic book artist but never really put in the effort to make it happen. Eventually I had to concern myself with things like work and raising a family. Then everyday life became more and more important to me. For a while even just drawing fell behind even though I never gave it up entirely. I started spending free time just making quick sketches and writing notes about characters and story ideas. After all; once a day dreamer, forever a daydreamer.
It seems that in some ways my life as an artist has come full circle. I've had a lot of free time in the last year (or more) to draw, think, and write and I am determined to get as much done with it as possible. Thus idleflux was born and now I have decided to get something out there quickly and turn one of my stories into a web based comic book.
I am happy to introduce you to "Infinite Malice"
This is the cover art for the first installment. I have already completed some of the page art but am waiting to get several pages done before I post them.
I'm still working on my other projects too but this one is getting pushed to the front and will be coming to you very soon.

One thing about being able to draw is your family always wants some art. No worries though. It gives me a good reason to keep going. So if you're here take a minute to check out the "More Artwork" section of the website.Chugging Along

I've been grinding away at drawings for my animations. The amount of work that has to be done is sometimes a bit overwhelming but I'll keep on keeping on.
Aside from customizing the site skin and drawing animation cells I took a short break to switch gears and do some conceptual drawings for another story idea. Here are some of the character designs I thought everyone would enjoy.

Digging in Deeper

As the name of the site might (or might not) imply, things will be changing at seemingly irregular, random, and unpredictable intervals here. I have a vision for my site. Perhaps a bit convoluted, but a vision non the less.
As a loving father and husband the chaos of my thoughts is reflected in my environment. When I'm home the kids are blissfully running a muck and I'm often distracted by an irresistible need to have some sort of interaction with my beautiful wife. She is extremely supportive of my need to create but I can't help but feel I might be less than attentive at times. And so, work on the site, my art, and my animation moves in waves as I shift back and forth from the real world to my "special place".
In the real world, my job is going slow. This is good and bad for me. Bad, obviously, because of the reduced income. But, very good because, as you know, I have heaps of work to do on my personal projects and helping Cajsa (that's my beautiful wife I mentioned earlier) with her website. With some upcoming down time from the job I'm really digging into web design. It's been almost 10 years since I've really messed with it and fortunately not much has changed and those that have are significant improvements in the flexibility of the tools.
I'm currently using the Joomla! CMS (content management system) which was recommended by my cousin. It's extremely powerful, easy to use, and customizable but a little lacking on the templates available. Actually that's a good thing because now I am forced to build a custom template for my site, which I would have probably done anyways. =P
In the not so real world, I've been sifting through forums and tutorals and have begun work on the new "idleflux" template. There are going to be some changes the appearance and organization of the site. In the mean time I will keep posting content with this sligtly modifed default template.
